Basically, all this change is purely driven by the "licence directives" from unelected foreigners in brussels.
the 1st licence directive came in in 1997, this prevented people doing the car test having B+E (towing) C1 (LGV up to 7.5 tonnes) and D1 (minibus) all in the name of harmonisation, also the DVLA ltd were forced by Fernando Henez MEP to replace the lifetime paper driving licences with this nice convinient photo style licence (still with a paper counterpart ) but becomes invalid in 10 years, so DVLA ltd can make money.
the second licence directive came in very recently, which does include this bike test fiasco. Now when i did my perfectly okay A2 only 13 months ago, the test fee was £56.50, now its gone up to £90.50, a massive £34 increase for a test which has been broken up into 2, and the 2 manovers you did on the road (plus now 1 extra) been taken off the road, and having the test in metric
The third licence directive is due in at 1013, whis includes proposals for extra testing from A2 to A, raising the riding age to 18, and compulsory medicals for all licence holders. DSA ltd and DVLA ltd love this as its yet more money under a guise of safety
https://ec.europa.eu/dgs/energy_transport/publication/memos/2006_03_27_driving_licence_en.pdf
i cant help but think that all government departments, and the government is only anserable to the EU, a puppet government lets say. the BBC dont really touch EU issues simply because the BBC recieves funding from the EU, so therefore pro EU. This is why much of the change is/has gone un-noticed.
It is also my belief that they are trying to have less bikers on the road, simply to improve KSI stats. our puppet government isnt really keen on bikers either as they recieve less revenue during a bikes lifetime than a cars lifetime.
BTW, i dont believe L platers are going to loose the right to ride alone, i believe thats MCN telling porkies again (like the "cameras" that track you around the cat n fiddle) |

Im just glad i did my test just before the change over .
Still wouldnt have made much difference if i had done the new one.
One thing though is why the fuck did i have to do 2 theory tests?!
Did my one for my bike back in march and the one for my car a few weeks ago. Absolute shit.. its the same test! they just want to stinge another 30quid of you. ____________________ Now - Ducati 748, Laverda 650 Sport

Although they are technically slightly different, you are of course correct. |
