Found this intresting

Quote:
* Motorcycle campaigners have rightly pointed out that these figures date from 2002, and therefore do not take account of changes to emissions standards for new motorbikes which came into force in 2007. Whilst the improvements in standards are welcome, it will still take several years for Britain's motorbike fleet overall to match the car fleet in terms of noxious emissions (the number of motorbikes sold annually in Britain is roughly 1/8 of the number owned), let alone cycling (which is of course zero emissions transport). Hence there is still no basis for favouring motorbikes (e.g. by allowing them into bus lanes) on the basis that they are a "green" mode of transport - such claims are untenable and will doubtless remain so for several years to come.

I belive that on the basis that were a vunrable on the road, is a massive reason that we should be allowed in bus lanes and in the cycle only section at lights.

Also if some one could clear up this; as our taxation class is "Bicycle" should we not be leagaly allowed in the area at traffic lights and in cycle lanes and such?

Thumbs Up

Coom oop to Oool.
Bikes use the bus lanes in Hull.
No fooking problems.
The City Fathers/NAZIS of Edinburgh said no to bikes in bus lanes as they cited it would be dangerous for bikes moving in and out lane to pass buses at stops.... My arse it would. Just as dangerouis as any other manouvre among the dangerous cnuts who use cars. Mad

Hi

Bicycles are not zero emission as they still require being made in the first place.

Not sure anything justifies keeping anyone out of bus lanes. Personally I think bikes should be able to use them, but then I think cars should as well. Their primary purpose appears to be to make it unpleasant to use a car which I do not agree with.

All the best

Keith
