Hi, the SV1000 handbook says this about engine oil.

https://www.suzukisv1000.com/images/misc/oil_chart.gif

I can't find 0w-40, will 10W-40 do? That chart means nothing to me. Sad

semi synthetic 10-40 is your best bet.

The numbers basically relate to how thick the oil is-thinner oils are better for the cold, thicker for hot weather.

10-40 is a good oil for the changeable british weather!

rock oil, motul, silkolene, castrol etc are all good.

The chart says that 10W-40 can be used between -20°c and 40°c so will be perfectly fine.

Hi

That chart doesn't say to use 0W40, it has just put a space between the 1 and the 0 of 10.

All the best

Keith
