Fitted my twin leading shoe brake to the badger and took her on test on Friday. Managed to lock the front end braking very late for a bend and had a goodly wobble. By now I was going far to fast to take the corner so I opted to run off through the grass and just let the speed scrub off without hitting the brakes.
At some time during these events I kicked down to right the bike and recieved a foot-peg into the calf. Mr. Green

It is a rubbish corner, the surface looks good but it is slippery as hell and I have had to run out many times ( if you get it wrong half way round there is a big lamp-post so it is best to bail early). It is a good job that the head does not know what I do at her school when she is not looking. Very Happy

I have road tyres on, they make hardly a mark on the cricket pitch.

I got a footpeg through my shin once, dropped a KLE while attempting to ride across a wooden bridge in the rain, had a hole there for ages and it created a nice lump on the bone, hurt like a bastard. Luckily the footpegs also saved the bike from going through the railings down into the river below Smile

My shins are just scar tissue, so much so that I wear football shin-pads inside my boots to stop further damage (shins are a pig to stitch and take months to heal) I forgot about the calf though, if my boots were an inch higher they would have taken the impact.
