I need to buy a set of downpipes for my CBR600 FV.

Now DK have a set of stainless ones on ebay for £120. This looks good, but they are DK. Has anyone bought CBR6 downpipes from them, and did they fit?

I've heard bad things about DK pipes from the TDM forum.

I'm not sure I'd want to give them any of my money regardless just on principle to be honest.

You know if you do buy it, there'll be some huge problem turn up, and then you'll kick yourself. Best of luck though. Thumbs Up

I've heard mixed things about DK pipe work. Sometimes they fit, sometimes they don't. Confused

Agreed.

Fitted a full system once to a mate's 1200 Bandit and it was a total pain in the arse. Got it on mind, but nothing wanted to line up properly.

Don't buy it from DK just out of principle. Don't feed the mouth of the people that bite so many bikers back. Thumbs Up

Yeah buy from Sandy bike spares instead of DK.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Yeah I got the cheaper 'delkevic' stainless system (for under £100) from DK on ebay for my old CBR600FX and the fit was pretty grim to be honest.

Took a LOT of force with scaffolding bars to get them on and even then the seal wasn't that great, I was worried the pipes were going to snap the studs off the engine block the fit was so tight!

Still kept them on mind....fairings are a wonderful thing for that 'out of sight, out of mind' solution Wink

Another vote for Sandybikespares. I've got a set of the downpipes for my CB500. I ordered them for the garage to fit, and had no problems. (Although I did once have to re-tighten the downpipe nuts after a couple of weeks, the horror!)

I had a set of DK pipes for Poppy. Took a bit of muscle to fit but got them on in the end.

Many people who rode it called it Turbo Lag haha

Just ordered a set of downpipes from sandybikespares and the kicker for me was they dont use mild steel at the end which is why my current one is fooked.

Dont have the product yet (duh ordered 2 hours ago) but they replied to my inquiry really fast, were helpful and friendly. So yer recommending them so far Thumbs Up

I really struggled fitting my pipe onto mine, until my dad heated them up, then they slipped together, its a cheap viper system.

M&P do some OEM stainless steel ones for £170. OK, they're OTW,which is not exactly akrapovic quality, but at least it's not sold through DK...

Hi

I have some D&K headers on my FZR600.

They fitted to the head fine, although the mount down near the footrest isn't a good fit.

They were meant to be stainless but have corroded a fair bit.

Performance wise they were OK, although of a different design.

All the best

Keith
