A mate at work is offering me his Hein Gericke 2 piece leathers - size 52 with the uprated armour.

He spent ~£330 on them a couple of years back, wore them only a couple of times, realised biking wasn't for him and sat them in his cupboard.

He'd like me to make him an offer, but I have no dea how much they're worth. eBay suggests they're worth peanuts - ~£50 for the lot maybe.

I just don't want to insult him!

refuse to make an offer,
just say you dont know what they are worth, remind him of the mates-rates system and see what he says. Thumbs Up

If they've only been worn a couple of times then they'd go for more than £50 on Ebay. I'd say £100-£150.

Thanks for the replies, I'll see how it goes Smile

Quick question regarding size, how tight should leathers be?

With the 2 piece on and fully zipped, the chest is snug, but around the gut I can gather 1-2" on slack above my hips, similar story on my thighs (~1" slack) and biceps (~1" slack).

Is that normal? Or should I walk away and try on some women's Wink

I've had disagreements with people on here in the past few days but I am of the opinion that, in the shop, leathers should be too tight moreso than too loose or even just-right.

As these are 2nd hand they are presumably broken in to some extent. Expect them to stretch a little as you will be a different shape to whoever you are buying the from, but they won't stretch massively like new leathers. If they feel too big now, well they ain't going to shrink so they will alway be too big. If they feel ok or slightly tight now you're probably ok in them.

When i bought a new one piece i bought tight, very tight. It has now stretched, unfortunately i have put on some weight so it is still tight Very Happy

I dont think this is particularly useful to you.

Buy tight and dont put on weight though. You dont want baggy leather cos if you fall off the armour wont stay in the right places

I myself have just bought a brand new RST rift 2 piece on Monday an asked the same questions. The top is very snug fit and the pants were a little bit over size but enough to keep the knee pads an everything in the right place.

I went to a local shop an tried on a the size down an they felt way too uncomfortable so I'm sticking with the slightly bigger pants. The jackets eased right up now an it's far easier to ride in.
