Ugh its horrible Sad

Go and catch some lady birds (or lace-fly)and put them on your plants and they will eat them.

Im crap at growing things but gave it a try.....
Most of the plants died - due to lack of watering/forgetting them

Got a couple still going and keep lookng fragile/weak

Sounds like a canny idea, I might give it a bash. Are the instructions easy to interpret? I know nothing about growing things, so technical terms will baffle me.

Can they be grown as indoors only plants or do they have to be put outside at some point? Personally I'd prefer to keep them indoors. Also, is it okay to limit the plant size by not putting them into larger pots or will they just end up dying?

Mine are indoors - i live 6 floors up so I have no garden Sad
Mine are in big pots now - im unsure how small you can stay?! I wont get bigger pots. These plants are small anyway, grow to about 60cm I think and are producing chillies now.

I've got 18 chillies on mine now, 8 are red. I'll get a picture tomorrow. The sun and feed seem to be really helping it along.

I saw a chilli growing kit in Home Bargains today for 79p. Might try it out.

24 chillies now:

https://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/ms51ves3/DSCF2817.jpg

Should I pull them off when they look like this...

https://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/ms51ves3/DSCF2819.jpg

...or wait until they fall off themselves.

Also, can you grow chillies from the seed looking things (I'm assuming they're seeds) in the flowers? If so, how would be best to start the growing process.

Pull them as soon as they turn red, those look a little over-ripe IMHO.
The things in the flowers are not seeds, they are chilli genitals where manly pollen is made and lady plant parts live!
You grow chillis from the seeds in the pods.

Leaving it in a dark room?

I've been feeding mine, putting it out in the sun, misting the plant on a regular basis (obviously not when it's in the sun) and bringing it into my boiling bedroom at night.

P.S. Just cut off 13 chillies of varying sizes.

Next year I will help you through growing, I do not think you are a natural and you did well to get one fruit from that stick.

My plants are looking fit, Habs fruit quite late as they need a lot of sun and I am looking forward to a good crop. I gave one of our school governors a few plants and he had a lot of flowers drop until I told him how to impregnate them with a little paint brush. Today his daughter came to see me and I explained to her how pollination worked and how the mommy plants and daddy plants were in love and wanted to have little baby plants. Mr. Green

I have two main plants at the moment.

One with 3 chillies growing.... red i just picked and ate - eyes watered.
My other is in my room.... its blossom dropping.... always has many flowers that seem to look amazing, then die the next day.
Its by my window (One nice looking chilli growin) its hot in my room, but with a breeze with the window open.
Its growing more, the newer stems look healthy, but older ones are fading.... am unsure what to too..... I should of had a nice ammount of chillis growing now....20 flowers in the last 2 weeks, yet they all just died......
Some Flowers still blossom (new roots look nice green/healthy)
Im not giving up.
Ive tryed to pollentate with a cotton bud Laughing
Help me...coz i just enjoyed that chilli I grew... I want more!!!

Louise...
Do you have drain holes in your pots, they do not like sitting in water and the roots need air. Well drained pots and compost aerated with 50% vermiculite FTW.
Go and catch ladybirds (even better ladybird larvae) they will eat any parasites destroying your plants.
Feed as for tomatoes once a week.

please do this with a butterfly net, and get someone to video you doing it.

Even better...
I was catching some (or at least looking for some) in a bush across from my house. The next day the nice Pakistani lady from number 13 asked what I was up to so i told her, that evening she turned up with a plastic bag full of ladybirds. She had taken her two little girls into the park and they had spent a couple of happy hours hunting for me. Very Happy
