When I had my last bike serviced, it came bac with a lovely thick fudge-like paste on the chain, which seemed superior to everything I've used since.

Is there anything on the market like that available (please don't suggest fudge). All the lubes I use seem to be shit.

I can't stand the thick pastey gunk my local dealer smears over my chains after a service.

Yes, it lubes it up nicely and lasts quite a while, but it ends up coating everything and is a right bitch to get off the rear wheel.

Wurth Dry Chain Lube is the closest I can find to the stuff you find on a new chain - lasts long, good penetration and pretty much invisible.

I also use chain saw oil - gives a nice wet look to the chain - but you have to use it relatively sparingly to avoid fling.
