Sorry for my previous posting, I wish this to be removed from the site. If I have offend any body with my naivety all I can do is apologise.
I have now read and understand the rule of this site and can also understand why they are in place.

For me this is a difficult one. We need more small companies and we need them to survive, a start-out business can't afford high advertsing rates so advertising their services on forums is a good way to get some public awareness.

In this instance, you didn't try to mislead anyone with your original forum topic and you are not a large multi-national trying to force stuff in our face. If that was the case, I believe the 'spam' comments would be correct.

I would much prefer to support a small company, but if I don't know about any in the area, then I usually search on internet which will generally be biased towards who is spending most on advertising.

So, for me, I don't really feel you need to apologise.

But I guess, rules is rules and it would appear that those that have a say will not take any mitigating circumstances into consideration (like you are offering a service that some bikers may need, you are not a big corporate company and you didnt try to hide spam within a misleading topic).

This is much like how people complain about the police not taking any mitigating circumstances into account when a speeding offence was caught on a speed camera. 37 in a 30 open road at 4am in the morning would not really be much of an offence but you'd still get done by a scamera!

Anyway, just my worth!

I really think you should take up the advice of posting in show and tell with cool before and after pics of good work you have done; we like to see stuff like that and its good advertising.

It common practice on these forums to introduce yourself, tell us what you ride, and about your projects...if you slip it in 'what you do professionally' afterwards...is totally up to you.
