I was stung a couple of years ago when my dog disturbed a nest when out on a walk - ended up being chased down the field by swarm of them Had about a dozen stings all on the back of my arms and neck.
More for future reference really, as it may be a bit late for you now. Make sure the sting is out as bees leave it in situ, still pumping venom into you too, wasps are tidier and keep their sting attached to them for future use (usually a nano second later, further along your body ). You then need to put something like vinegar on the stung bit as it helps to neutralise the effect of the venom.
They do take a while to go down properly and I had what looked like little bruises left too. ____________________ 'The core of a man's spirit comes from new experiences'

Antihistamine pill. If the sting area is hot then it could be infected. Sometimes cured by squeezing the nast out and savlon, sometimes a visit to the GP.
BTW it could just be an overreaction to the sting.
Not helped much...Where's stinky when you need him?

Sounds like it's tissue damage from the bee venom.
Bicarbonate of soda or very dilute ammonia would have helped to neutralise it but only in the first half hour or so after you were stung.
What remains is essentially bruising and inflamation.
Hydrocortisone cream from the chemists can help reduce the swelling.
Bee stings are acidic, wasp stings are alkaline. Putting vinegar on a bee sting will make it worse.

Thanks, it's all fine now, skins just a bit manky, even got a small scar. It started to go away finally after a week, was driving me crazy, used tea tree and witch hazel cream on it, not sure if it did anything though.
Was put into perspective after watching "Bitten" on discovery, necrotic Stilletto snake bites, Brown Recluse bites and a Rattlesnake bite causing compartment syndrome |
