This has happened a few time now and the bike will be running normal and then at some point the throttle becomes not very responsive and starts to stutter as if its being starved of fuel it will continue to hesitate and then fire off very snappy and isnt smooth at all?

The engine wants to stall and if I pop in the clutch thats what will happen locking the rear wheel.

If I turn the ignition off and back on again its ok for a while?

Any ideas on whats going on its the FI model 04 plate.

I'm thinking its the Throttle Position Sensor??

Blocked fuel tank breather causing a vacuum in the tank? Try opening the petrol cap next time it does it. If that sorts it, that's probably your problem.

Does it do it at all temperatures? Does it take a while to do it, or does it always do it?

Can you turn the bike off, turn it straight back on and it's ok?

I've tried the fuel tank opening and thats ok.

If I turn the ignition off and then back on that seems to do the trick for a while.

I've only noticed it when under normal operating temps on A/B Roads where i'm in between 3 and 4th gears when leaning around a corner and when you start to roll on the throttle it hesitates like shit and will fire off not smooth and you get the feeling it wants to stall?

Under hard acceleration nothing wrong with it.

What kind of revs? Low down or high up?

Some bikes can have unsmooth fuelling at low RPM and at certain revs where it's leaned out alot for emissions testing.

Is the bike new to you? If not, I assume it hasn't always been like this?

the bikes not new to me so know its a fault.

Mainly noticable around the 6k mark.

I understand about the fuelling issues with bike but this is really noticable after the repair probably fitting a power commander.

Yamaha think it the TPS from what i've said so I might just order the part and hope it's that!

Ah ok. Before replacing the TPS, why not check that the connection surfaces in the wiring connector and clean and free of corrosion?

On my bike, it's on the sie of the carbs, so I'd imagine it'd be on the side of the throttle bodies.
