I'm sure there was a review on a magazine/website a couple of years ago, it still pulled like a train towing a half tonne trailer apparently

there is also the Track T-800 (which is basically a smart car engine in a motorcycle)

the main issue i have with 'em is that almost all are automatic as diesels are only efficient in a small rev range.

I think I remember reading about this bike a while ago. Isn't it modeled on the KLR650 and has the power of something like a 250 trailie?

Good idea I think but 95mpg isn't that amazing when you can get CG's that'll do 120mpg and 600cc commuters that'll come close at around 65/70mpg. Even my old XJ600 would do 60mpg when I thrashed it and more if you rode it sensibly.

Obviously though I can see why the military would want a diesel bike as it's one less petrol tanker thing they need to take on the field to refuel the vehicles so making everything diesel just makes it easier for them.

Diesel in the early 90's was described as 'better' and cheaper to make than petrol.
So what happend since that time? Technology de-volved and its now harder to make therefore more expensive than unleaded?
