I brought a new battery about 6 weeks ago and did not charge it i connected it straight to my bike, i rode for about an hour.

I have not riden or started the bike since and when i went to check the battery had no power at all.

I have just connected an optimate 4 to the battery and all that is happeneing is the power light is on, nothing else seems to be happening Confused

Have i completly knackered my battery or is it the optimate 4 Question

If the battery drops below a certain voltage the charger won't even try to charge it. You have to link another battery to the flat one to "jump-start" the charger. You only have to link them for a second or two so that the lights come on the charger.

I think it explains this in the book or on the website. Normally, if a battery drops below 3v, it won't be any good after.

I'd leave it on overnight then check again. You should have two lights showing. a power light and a battery condiotion. (red for dead, yellow if still charging, green for good. )

Had the same problem, what I did was connect it up to my car for 15 minutes with jump-leads then put it on the charger which then started working. Apparently the optimate wont work on a completly flat battery
