Getting my bike taxed without v5!

its £25 and six weeks to get a v5 for my bike, I can get a covernote and its under three years old, can someone with a traders policy tax my bike - is that possible...
only I'm starting college within a few weeks and it doesn't look like it's going to happen.... any suggestions.

if the bike is registered in your name you can get the tax online,

I've sent off for log books in the past & they don't normally take more than two weeks from the day I post the forms off

Why is there no V5.....
You should have been getting the previous owner to sort that missing paperwork.....

Even if you have the bike insured and a valid MOT, you are going to strugle to tax it online as it requires the ref off the V5.
Only thing you could try is ringing to tax, or going to one of the local DVLA office and asking them.
