6 months old in 1983, my dad sat me on his BSA 650cc thing. I don't actually remember it of course. There's a photo somewhere in the family archives, must dig it out...

I've got boxer shorts older than you, God I feel old tonight.

I remember an Uncles scooter always being at the side of my Grandads house, used to be allowed to sit on it, I was about 3-4 years old, about'70-71. Then used to watch the bikes on the moores going to my other Grandparents. had a few goes of little bikes in Southport at the fair when I was about 5-8. Was taken pillion on a proper bike when I was about 12 years old and loved it, went to Speke hall and got to carry the lid all the way around for the day, I was the dogs, Then got my own bike at 16yr and the rest is history.

I was 9, (1973) staying at friends house, all the parents had gone for a night out and the babysitter was on a bike. I got to go pillion with him to the chippy as I was the eldest Very Happy I loved it and always said I would get a bike one day. Then I met Dave at work who had an RD350LC powervalve in Marlboro colours. I persuaded him to take me pillion, then got my own little bike, got engaged to him, passed my test, bought a brand new bike when he bought a used one, he finished with me and I have never looked back Laughing

I was 4 at a local (err, national, but this was Papua New Guinea) faire thingy... I crashed three times in a straight line, then went crying to my parents.

Looking back on my biking career so far, not much has changed Razz.

I was probably about 10 so that would make it some time in the latter half of the 80s. Had a go on some little motocross bike on an off-road track at a show. The kid in front of me fell off and I had my first experience of object fixation and ran him over.

I was 16 working the kitchens at the Stonecross Pub in Lowton if anyone knows it?

The guy I worked with had come on his ZX-9R and as usual offered me a lift back. I agreed but was secretly bricking it all night.

I got on, everything was cool and I felt like I was the man. Then he pulled onto the East Lancs and accelerated. I shit myself when I first felt the pull of the thing. After that I got into it and enjoyed it.

I am aware that last sentence sounds gay.

I think I was 14 and went pillion on the back of a friends cub 90. It was only a few hundred feet but to be honest it scared the bejesus out of me. I still wont go pillion now.

BSA Bantam, no idea how old but must have been around 5 or 6. My brothers had to take the tank off and stick a washing up bottle or something on instead so I could reach the ground with at least one foot.

Don't remember coming off that, though I'm sure I did, but I do remember not long after involuntarily trying to ride up and through a garden fence on a Tiger Cub. I nearly made it too...

14 years old, Italy. Staying with Italian friends of the family, they all had those pedal and pop chicken chaser things. Anyhow they I asked if I wanted a go, of course said I! So they said ok well the pedals have broken on this one so you have to run beside it and when the back tyre locks a little pull back the throttle and jump on.

So off I went running down the road, bike tyre locks I pull back the throttle... pulled the throttle way to much the bike starts pulling me down the road and of course the more the thing pulled forward the more the throttle went back, running me straight into a brick wall with me and the bike in a pile on the floor.
