Hey,

My battery was flat so i bought another one...like when i say flat i mean...very much dead!

Same rating as old battery, plonked it in, + to + and - to -, lights came on, fired up ok, then died.

Now i have NO lights, not the red on light, green neutral, nothing, wont fire up at all, d/c the battery and reconnected just incase, nothing!!

Replace 20A fuse in starter solenoid, still nothing???

At a loss really, its a 1993 K reg GS500E, nothing has been changed AFAIK aside from a nexxus exhaust.. which also leads me to another question, a new spark plug black but has lots of red on it? looks like its still very hot, not glowing, but a deepish red, what do i adjust for this to be a light brown colour?!

Only suggestion at the moment is to clean the battery terminals and the connectors. Make sure the bolts are nice and tight.

DO you have a multimeter? If not get yourself two bits of wire and a bulb to check there is current to various parts.

terminals are spotless and battery connected correct way.
multimeter on volt setting shows 12.88v.
Im not used to electrics, but i would like to get the bike back on the road...mainly as petrol is now at 114.99 a litre..and the 1.8 beast of a car is WAY to expensive for work runs!

Hello, sounds like you have blown the fuse. It did the same thing on me when i messed up some wiring in my new lights. change the fuse but still nwot. i had to clean the fuse terminals before i would come back. I would say the wiring may have a problem.
