Just curious really.

Just half a bottle of cheap standard Castrol DOT 4 in the garage that I used when I fitted braided lines to the hornet about 2 years ago.

Not arsed if it's knackered, but I've always kept the lid screwed on tight, so any moisture that it has absorbed would be minimal.

The other thing that made me curious was that it's a lighter colour than the stuff in my R6 at the moment. Indicating that the stuff in the R6 which has been changed more recently is more knackered.

Usually the fluid goes darkers as it absorbs water.

I assume for the sake of a tenna it's better playing it safe, but just curious really.

Hi

I would use it up to a couple of months old, but not 2 years.

Fluid is meant to be changed in the system fairly often, but most bike brake systems are pretty well sealed. Most car braking systems seem to have a small vent to allow air in to replace the fluid as the pistons take up the space of the pads being used.

All the best

Keith

Thought you may say that. Laughing

I'll flush it through with some lovely new stuff. Thumbs Up
