I sold an item on the 9th of August for £151.

Its been 7 days and the buyer has still not paid for it.

I sent an invoice stating the total amount after the auction and a polite e-mail asking him to pay on the 12th.
He didnt respond. I have just sent him a nastier e-mail telling him to pay within 24 hours or I will take legal action. Laughing

Im a bit annoyed as I have been charged a 10% final value fee plus the listing cost and I havent even sold the item. Mad

What should I do now? Neutral

Give it 2/3 more days then start proceedings.

The average Ebayer knows when the listing time is up, knows if they are able to pay for what they're bidding on so taking an age to pay is taking the piss.

Give them 14 days then initiate action through eBay.

If satisfaction is still not forth-coming, I believe it is traditional to post up what details you have about the 'buyer' (or not) here so the usual people can intitate the standard range of 'at-arms-length' retaliatory measures that seem to be in vogue here.

Does ebay not have guide lines in terms of timescales of payment?

Thumbs Up

If they don't pay then you lodge a non paying bidder action, it does bugger all because ebay likes having lots of scammers because they still get their listing fees, they will refund the final value fee if it doesn't sell, you can also second chance offer it to the next highest bidder, but rarely will they still want it.

Ebay is a vile product of the devil and it's way past the point where it should be brought under control, I just wish Google would take them on.

you're obviously not going to take legal action so why say it?

have you tried phoning the buyer?

if they don't pay report them through the ebay non paying bidder process. you'll get your final value fee refunded and you'll get to list it again for free, you will not be out of pocket

its all very straight forward. Smile
