Hi all, I'm interested in This Blackbird. 1997 52650 miles. What do you guys think?

How able is the blackbird to throw around twisties in comparison to my 99 cbr600f?

Any key things to look for when I view it?

Paint job not to my taste, but each to their own, a respray shouldn't be too much bother. I have a habit of doing my own lol.

It'll be more of a boat than your CBR.

No major problems with the motor apart from the usual Honda reg/rec, CCT, and exhaust rot.

Vee had one and should be able to tell you how they feel better than I will.

Doesn't say how many miles its done, or what year it is.

The guy does also sound like a bit of a muppet, and by god that paint is terrible. He's probably stacked at some point.

I like them myself, but have never ridden one so have no real experience to help!!

That particlar one looks overpriced. Look around and you'll find a nice standard one with lower miles for similar.

Its the only bike I've ever bought that I never test rode as on paper it was the perfect bike for me. To be honest I never got on with it. I may have had a badly set up bike, but I found the handling really ponderous. A lot of heavy bikes lose their weight on the move but the blackbird always felt heavy and the bike in general, whilst fast, felt a bit too civilised. Thats common with Honda's in general, but the Blackbird in particular. I sold mine after about 3 months.

I find the ZX12R a much better bike. Its much lighter, handles loads better, is generally more exciting and if you spend a bit of time and money on customising it you can get it almost as comfy.

Each to their own though.....lots of riders love them

Thanks guys. I was a bit worried about how heavy it would be. I have seen a nice 929 blade I may go for instead.

Just need someone to buy my CBR first lol
