I have problems with my TZR -89. Ignition won`t work. I took tank of and I made some tuning with carbulator, and when I put everything back and it started rather poorly. I drived sometime and I did the same again. Then it didn`t start any more. I opened tank again and I noticed that it didn`t came any flash.
It sounds like contact problem, but my friend said that CDi box is usually out of order in this model. I gauged Ignition HT coil, and first bobbin didn`t show any resistance with x1 ohms field; is it normal? the second bobbin showed quite much and my father said it`s normal.
I rang to shop that sells CDi boxes and they said the same thing that my fried, but that the box is under seat, but my Wiring diagram wont`t agree that. My wiring diagram tells that it`s under the tank on the left. Is it that box or is it the box under seat?

If sparking plugs spark gap is small, like 0.2mm, then you can see there some little flashing.

Can I gauge if CDi box is fine? What other things can I try to find out what`s problem?

Sorry my poor English; it`s hard to translate Finnish to English

There`s nice weather out and I`m sitting on computer like this Shocked .
Sad

I`m very thankful for any help.

"Do U have the power valve servo Kit fitted on yours? (YPVS)"

-No It`s not legal until I have driver licence to 25kw and I have registered it to mid class motorcycle (In Finland you can drive licence for 11kw at 16 years old, after 2 you automatically get 25kw- licence, and after 2 years of that you have permission to drive any motorcycle legally)
so, it`s not legally to use standerd exhaust either, but you have to take the pipe of to see if it`s 11kw version. Polices don`t do that Smile

By the way, I have power reeds on now, but I think they wont help a thing with my current exhaust

"The standerd exhaust is ace it gives u lodes of low down GRUNT and still revs out to 120000000000000000000Rpm"

Surprised My translator gave me a strange translations of some of those words that I wasn`t sure, So, did you mean that standard exhaust gives a good effect on low Rpm, but it gives good high Rpm too.

"i'll post some pics of mine soon L8R"
- Cool!!

so, you have YPVS on?, how many hp do you have in your bike?

Tomorrow I should get the power-bobbins thing, hope there is not any other problems. Rolling Eyes

the standard exhaust has lots of low end power! and top end too!

i think with the power valve servo it should be about 20-22 BHP

Hope you get it all sorted soon, mines just had a re-bore and new eveything to do with the engine..

what position is your powervalve in ......... open (top end power 7500-12000 rpm)
Or closed (2000 - 75000 rpm)??
