Yep you read that right! Its a payphone:

(image here: https://www.essexbikers.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=18108)

The image is stolen off an ebay advert but it is exactly the same phone..

I can't tell you much about it apart from it was bought new by a landlord who wanted to use it to prevent tenants from running up a huge phone bill before their tenancy ended... but as with all 'great ideas' it actually ended up sitting in a loft and he was going to dump it!!!

It runs directly off the phone line, no external power needed.. dial your number, wait for the answer (or answerphone) then drop some coins in to speak.. perfect, coins it accepts are £1, 50p, 20p, 10p.
You can reprogram it to cost virtually anything a minute or so im led to believe (researched a bit)

Also I think you can set up a PIN to bypass putting coins in

this would be perfect for use in a business e.g. pub (Guvnor!!!), rented accomodation, or just as your normal phone so you can monitor the kids call usage..

I've tested it, and it has a dial tone, i havent tried to dial out though..

Comes with a key but no instruction manual but it is apparently the same phone as the Solitare 2000 which you can download a manual for here: https://www.solitairepayphones.com/downloads.htm .....

I'm open to offers, but i have a fair idea of its value (hence saving it from the dump) so fair offers please.
