Went in my first ever turbo yesterday

An MR2 GTS.

I've owned the n/a MR2 & it simply does not compare in any way, when the turbo kicks in it just pulls like a train right through the rev range. Feels like a sportsbike where it feels like the bike has unlimited torque & will just keep pulling & pulling.

Great thing about MR2s tho is they're built for it so going through the bends it stayed planted whereas my FWD would of felt like it was going to tip over lol.

Next car has to be a turbo, if just for the whistling noise it produces.

I remember my first time with a turbo, it picked up constantly with power I had only ever dreamed of, it took me right the way to the edge, The Electrolux Turbo vacume cleaner is fantastic.

Turbo's are overrated, VTEC is where it's at can't beat the kick or sound of a B series VTEC at full chat. Not in a car anyway

Would really like to drive a CTR but i imagine that the v-tec engine doesn't have much torque, hence caining it everywhere to get some speed out of it. Lovely cars tho.

My first experience was a fiat uno turbo, it was shit.

Best experience was a cossie with a T4 running 32psi, NOTHING compares to it, not even a sportsbike. It sounded like a jet on full boost.

My first was a Metro Turbo back in the day

and I owned a modded Uno Turbo which with 130bhp in a shell made from recycled tin cans went like a bastard and surprised more than a few people

My first experience was in a rally prepped Evo 7. My boss' actually, Chris Cargill from Icon Auto in Dubai, he let me take it for a spin on the gravel/sand area with bumps and jumps outside the garage, basically it was our mini testing ground. Here's the car:

Turbos are were it's at Hence why the Vaux engine going into the Mini has one...

First turbo I ever drove was a 360hp Saph Cosworth. Good fun. Fastest turbo cars I've been in are, well I'm not sure. ~500hp RS500 or a ~500hp Evo V. Both very quick.

I share a workshop with a 309hp Maestro turbo track-day veteran. Driven that briefly and been driven in it briefly, yet to go out on track in it though. It's a formidable car, none of the above cars would really be able to compete on track despite its apparent power deficiency.
