According to this – they are building a new motorcycle test centre in Rufforth

However, I’m looking into booking my test within the next few weeks and when I’ve phoned a couple of local places, they’ve all said I’ll need to sit my Mod 1 at rufforth anyway, so I thought there was already one there??

Could be wrong !

Anyhoo..

I wouldn't believe a word the Press says - Mod 1's have been taking place at Leeds for ages, no need for York candidates to go to Hull anymore.

Who's told you you can do a Mod 1 at Rufforth? Confused

Hmm, no comment. Laughing

I can thoroughly confirm that there are no current facilities for Mod 1 in Rufforth, as I was there the other week and would have noticed.

Mod 2 is taken at Osbaldwick, for Mod 1 the nearest centre is currently Leeds.

Only thing taking place at Rufforth airfield at the moment is CBTs and Mod 1 training with York Motorcycle Training.

Anyway, I hope the NIMBY's at Rufforth don't spoil the planning for a new site, it's well needed.

No, I have a proper job. Razz

It's owned by my mates, I just do their website for them.

Not sure where in Leeds, I've not been. DSA website might have an address.

Mate of mine recently did his mod 1 + 2, pretty sure he never left York area for either.

Black Knight is correct, at the moment the module 1's in York are done at the Walton DSA LGV site, Wighill lane which is situated between Wetherby and Rufforth.

Mod2's are done at the main DSA centre in Osbaldwick. No need to leave York for either.

As to whether York Rider training are any good I recently did my full direct access course with them and passed first time with 1 minor fault, I found the tuition from the instructors was excellent as a new rider, couldn't recommend them enough Smile
