I really cant seem to get my head around all this shit it doesnt seem to make any sense ill give you a hint as to what i mean.

2000 Mitsubishi galant sport £923.90
1999 Honda accord VTEC SE £855.54
1999 Toyota Celica ST ££810.34

All fairly decent motors, perfectly respectable cars.

Now i thought id have a look at something cheaper (Although im not complaining about those prices).

1995 Vauxhall astra 5 door 1.6 valued at £300

£814.62 Shocked

How the hell is a astra more to insure than a Celica ?

They are probably easier to nick, parts harder to source if it is involved in an accident (more chance of a total loss).

Are them quotes FC or TPFT?

Could be worse.
I got quoted £2400 TPFT for my old Skoda Felicia 1.3 - it makes about the same HP as my Bandit does, and that only costs me £220 TPFT.

Both the Skoda and the Bandit are 1996 models, both worth about £800.

Not only easier to nick, but have more of a history of young drivers crashing in them. You also have to keep in mind insurance companies spread their risk across age groups AND cars, so if they already have loads of astra class vehicles.........

Think about the number of dented astras you see compared to galants, or the number of astras 5-up with young men in sportswear.

It's all about the demographic. This is why I paid about the same to insure a 2.6 merc 190 as I did to insure a 1.6 escort when I was 19.

Ok cheers for that fellas now I have to decide between the 3.

I have had a few cars but the biggest being a audi 80.

Parts wise I can get cost price so..... If you had the choice which would you have?
