Im looking to get some neutral grain alcohol, example everclear, for to make some herbal tinctures as I've heard that this sort of alcohol really absorbs the 'flavours' of many herbs. You can then use these tinctures in your cooking to really give your food some 'flavour'...

Something like the 150 or 190 proof should be just dandy

I've googled but can't seem to find anywhere that sells this sort of thing in the UK.

Any ideas???

Also with regards to customs, if i was to import some everclear from the US, would it be liable to pay customs duty when it arrived here?

I was up at Leven in Scotland at the Distilery, they had the raw product before they toned it down to whisky. I'm sure you could buy the 100% stuff from there.

I put freshly ground spice, in bottles of vegetable oil.

The oil then has the taste of the spice, without the bits.

Chilli oil is particularly good.

"Polish pure spirit" is 160 proof grain vodka and available for sale in the UK.
