After some help please.

The girlfriends sister has a 125cc moped. She put diesel in, instead of unleaded. Only about a quarter of the tank.

BUT DID'NT START THIS MORNING!!

I know we need to drain the tank but don't know where to start to be honest, sure we'd be able to do it ourselves, or is it not just as simple as that? So this where I hope you people can help.

Regards and help appreciated.

You should be able to remove the tube that joins the tank to the carb. Just be ready with something to catch the fuel!

Next you need to get rid of the diesel that may be in the carb. Just undo the screw at the bottom, on the carb bowl. Once again just be ready to catch the fuel that comes out.

Big mistake starting it up Thumbs Down As said, drain the tank and clean the carb out and all should be well.

On a FI car maybe but on a scoot? Not going to cause much of a problem at all. At worst you might need to give the plug a clean and flush out the carb.

That's hassle that could have been avoided though. If it hadn't been started all you'd need to do is flush the tank Thumbs Up

i filled my wife's diesel Renault Megan with £50 worth of unleaded.

had a dickey fit when i finished filling it and realized:evil:

i didn't start it but it cost £200 for the break down to tow me to his garage at 1130 at night and with 2 tanks of fuel that little episode cost £300 Embarassed Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Laughing

but as said drain tank + carb and give the plug a quick wipe as it will be oily Thumbs Up
