Hi everyone

I changed my stock exhaust to a Leo Vince TT about 8 months ago and de-restricted it and it flies but one problem is the acceleration. I have a flat spot from 0-20mph but as soon as it reaches around 20 acceleration kicks in and reaches top speed very quickly. It also struggles going up hill and will not go anymore than 15-20mph. My bike is a Yamaha Jog RR 08 plate. I think it may need a new jet any ideas on what size would be much appreciate thanks.

hum not to good with jetting not done it myself yet but maybe you could swap out your rollers to help your gearing if you have no acceleration till 20 sounds like your hitting high gear to fast think of it like setting of on a push bike in 10th gear instead of 1st if you get me
i cant remember witch way round it is but heavier rollers either help acceleration or top speed likewise for lighter i think its lighter that increases acceleration but i could be wrong your best off buying a few different weights and trying them all

hope you get it sorted Smile

You were going well until your last sentence.

Rollers have no direct relation with acceleration and top speed. Their job is to keep the bike in the powerband. Heavier rollers engage higher gear ratios sooner, lighter rollers engage higher gear ratios later.

To the OP, try some lighter rollers.

With lighter rollers you have increased acceleration but decreased top speed, why won't you accept it? Shocked

Fuck off you ignorant wanker.

YOU'RE WRONG!

So if i fitted lead rollers i would go 200mph?

Didn't think so.

Now fuck off.

Well I put lighter rollers in my moped and acceleration increased, yet top end was slightly reduced. How could I possibly be wrong if I've had first hand experience? Are you telling me that I put lighter rollers in and I'm just imagining that my acceleration is miles better? Congratulations

You put lighter rollers in and your bike revved more and made more noise, it is very very unlikely that it accelerated faster. Ever heard of the pseudo effect?

Your top speed reduced as the bike didn't have enough power to pull you to that top speed because it was in was in a too higher gear Rolling Eyes I'm sick of repeating my self to you. Come back when you actually understand how a variator works and stop posting incorrect information in the workshop section.
