Hi i was wondering if anyone could help me out, im new to bikes so if i sound a little daft Embarassed , i recently purchased a 1999 Honda Nsr 125 (abt a month ago) have done approx 600/700miles on it, everything was fine until i had it out today, when i was approaching junctions etc and knockin it down through the gears everything was fine until it came to 1st gear, it just felt like there was no gear there, but as soon as i pop the clutch to the biting point you could hear it clunk into gear then and also when stopping bike was having problems getting in neutral (never had this prob before so i know its not me), any help would be gratefully received.
thanks in Advance, Chris.

the problem on this bike are the 2nd gear mainshaft & counter shaft . also when the gearbox is hot , you wont find the neutral
when you take your gears down , it's not recommanded to go from 2nd to 1rst , better to stop then get the first to restart
i assume if you cut engine the neutral is easy to get
anyway you should change your oil with 0.7 L of 10-40W (better fully synthetic)
all the best

Sometimes if you shift down a few gears at a time it will do this. My blade sometimes does it. You can stop it by going down 1 gear at a time e.g 4th, clutch in select 3rd, clutch out ect.
Bike gearboxes are not like cars and don't like block shifting.
I can guarantee you that there is nothing wrong with the gearbox. You just need to adjust your riding style a little.

Hi again, Thanks for input already guys, went down to bike today for the 1st time since the other day when i was having my probs with it. Started bike from cold, sat on it pulled clutch in and straight away went into 1st gear no probs (didnt go for a ride though rubbish weather, typical), so im really confused now, if i do have probs with what alains said would i only encounter them once my gearbox was hot?? Or may it was just the way i was riding but the gear lever really felt like there was something wrong, as much as i would like to hope Baldy is right i am enclined to think there is actually something wrong, but unsure. Will take into account, stop before engaging 1st gear not whilst rolling and also no block shift for future riding though didnt know that, Thanks for tips there guys. Thumbs Up

My bike gets hot quite quick, damn air cooled heap..

It becomes a bitch to find neutral, or shift into second when its hot.
From cold up to about 10mins of riding its fantastic.

I would probably just say its getting hot and becomes a slag like mine Sad
