Guys, need help choosing an amplifier, the speakers will be https://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/rainbow-slx265.html
Sub will be https://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/product/products_id/10911.html

What sort of amp do i need to power both, multichannel, mono, 2 channel? & what sort of power should i be looking at? I know how to wire components but have no idea how to wire the sub.

Cheers. Smile

Isn't a Nova/Saxo or whatever the kids drive these the normal sort of power supply? Wink

Unfortunatly its been that long since I looked at any thing to do with "ICE" I have no valuable input.

Don't want anything like you hear some people have where the whole road shakes, just something to make the music sound a bit better as there's only so much bass you'll get from speakers.

I'm actually thinking of something much smaller now like an underseat sub. Smile

I would of probably been interested but i've just this minute changed my mind to buy an underseat sub as i think the 10"+ would be too much for my needs.

Cheers for the offer tho. Thumbs Up

10" can give you fantastic tight guitar and drum bass line - depends what sort of music you're playing. I like metal, so very few ultra lows, if you like drum'n'bass then you'll be wanting a bigger sub. The underseat ones are mostly crap, go the whole hog.

Run a pair of good quality components crossed at 100-120Hz ish in the front powered by one amp, and a 10" sub somewhere in the back powered by another. Try and give the sub about the same power as the fronts (eg 2x100w in the front, 1x200w on the sub). Make sure you set the gains so the amps don't clip and you'll have enough clean sound with decent staging to not hear yourself think Smile

In this scenario, why not use a 4 channel amp (4x100) and bridge 2 channels to run the sub, rather than as you say get an amp to run the front components and another to run the sub in the rear?

Could do. Depends really on the amp. Many 4 channels share the power block however, so when the bass hits, it can take power from the fronts briefly (whether you could really hear it is another question); the bridged power isn't usually double the single channel although close (higher or lower); few 4 channels (when I was looking some years ago now....) have enough controls for my preferences in how to adjust things (if they were good for one end, they were poor at the other); 2 channels come up second hand in good condition on talkaudio and ebay more than 4s.

I eventually bought a Genesis amp for the fronts and a Dragster (company long gone I believe) amp for the sub - couldn't afford a 4 channel Gene or even 2 x 2 channel Sad Allows you to concentrate quality and budget on the end where you really hear it!

That'll do you. It's a GH amp; quality of a class A or B but with the efficiency of a class D. Its tiny too!

They do a 2 channel and a mono bass in the same range as well if your interested.

Vibe LITEBOX ftw!
