PS3, slow wireless connection

anyone know why my wireless is so slow on my PS3?

finally got my new slim online yesterday and it said I needed to do an update of 175MB, thought fine do it wirelessly as that's nothing (downloaded 1.5GB in 30mins earlier in the day), over an HOUR later the update was done.

then i put in my COD:WAW disk, more updates, 105MB this time, set it away, went had some dinner, watched the simpsons etc, returned to find it had clapped out.

any tips on what to check or are PS3s just shit wirelessly? my Wii is beside it and hasn't had any of these problems, nor has my 2 laptops.

All I can suggest is to check your nat settings. Mine was on type 3 originally and has nothing but problems. Changed it to type two by putting the ps3 in a dmz and the speed went through the roof! Who is your broadband provider, and are you using their default equipment. The talk talk stuff is renowned foe being bad with ps3's unless you change some settings.
