I want to send an email to what could be my new boss. It is in the same company but I will be moving departments.

The email I want to send basically asking if I should apply or not. The reason I'm in 2 minds is because of the critera. There are too main parts to it, I exceed one of them by a fair way but know very little of the other. I have never met this guy but he is pretty high up in my company. I can't drop by for a caht has he is in a different country and I don't want to phone.

I basically wanna say

Hello x

I'm interested in vacancy x, this is what I know, but I have no knowledge of x. should I apply or is prior knowledge in x essential.

Yours faithfully/sincerly/hopeing chris

I'm really crap with written comunication and has I have never met this bloke I want to give a good impression.

Help/advice appriacated.

Chris

Just apply for the job rather than ask if you can apply.

If you are serious about the job discuss it with your manager, if he agrees you are up for it then it is better that he puts your name forward.

The thing is about you being lazy about typing out your CV, you only have to do it once and then whenever you apply for a job in the future, modify it for the position.

You may as well get it done sooner rather than later as it will have to get done eventually.

Learn how to:

a. Spell.

b. Use a spellchecker.

I was going to write a serious reply, but as you're not serious about the job, I can't be bothered. Rolling Eyes

Yawn, it's perfectly legable, how about do something usefull with your time rather than trawling for spelling mistakes.

I don't see the point of applying for a job I'm not sure I can do, It will take a good few hours writting a covering letter CV + the forms. I'm dyslexic so written things down isn't fun and is time consuming.

I have a meeting about it tommorrow Thumbs Up

Speak to your line manager.

He he approves, make the application.

It it takes a few hours, so what. Surely it's worth it that you've shown interest/willing even if you don't get the job.
