No, it just alters the riding position a bit. I fitted straight renthals to mr xr and it made a huge difference. The old bars were too far back and low.

I got some Renthals for my DTR and they weren't a lot different. They're slightly longer than the stock ones, but design-wise they're twice as thick, have extra support and look a lot better.

Well, the bloke at the shop I went to actually gave me all of the colours they had for me to decide what looked best. I was going to get blue but they're a bit... chavvy Laughing I ended up getting the silver ones.

I'm a big fan of Renthals and have fitted them to a lot of my past bikes.
Just put Renthal Streetfighters on my Bandit, loads more comfortable with a wider bar and less vibes than a steel handlebar, they also look damn cool.
Just make sure your cables will extend for the type of Renthal you are getting, as there are many different sizes and styles of them.

I find the 36", 6" rise with 10 degree kickback renthal desert bars super comfy, especially with my old wrist injury.

Couldn't really fit them on the VFR though.
