This might sound a bit dumb but i'll ask anyway

Right, on my policy it said that i can ride any other bikes and will be third party covered, does it mean i can go out and buy twin turbo hayabusa and ride it for the same premium as my original bike? Or is there a trick somewhere i am missing?

Thanks

The bike will need to be registered to someone else and it is also very likely that it will also need to be insured by them too. Phone your insurance company to ask about that last bit.

Whilst we're on the subject of insurance and riding other bikes... my younger brother, he's 21, he got prosecuted for aggrevated TWOC of a car (my sisters car), leaving the scene of an accident, failing to report an accident, driving with no insurance and dangerous driving. This was all before he had a car license as well.

He got his license when he was 19/20 I think, he's got a mitsibish colt 1.1 black hawk at the moment. His first year he paid £4,000 and his renewal was £2,500 just gone.

He wants to get rid of the colt now and get a bike. He's looking at the Aprilia SX 125, which he has been accepted for finance on now.

Question is, you know how with cars, people always used to get their parents to buy a car, insure it and put them as a secondary driver?

Could I do this on the bike and name him as a secondary rider?

You could but, a) you would be lying as he would be the main rider and b) they would load the premium so much there probably would not be much difference in cost, if at all.
