don't forget if you want flip paint, your going to have to buy at least a litre of it (unless of course where you get it sprayed at carries it (unlikely)).
Flip paint is expensive, so be prepared for a silly quote for the paint alone. ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

No offence mate, but if your friend knows about this stuff and is gonna do the spraying, then surely he will be able to give you some prices?
We can only guess and go off prices that are printed in magazines etc. Andrew got a good deal for his paintwork, but I doubt that many of us would be as fortunate. Jammy Bastid. ____________________ TiN

Flip paint isn't cheep at all and the earlier versions of it involved spraying lots (and I mean lots) of coats.
The more modern paint isn't as hard to spray, but is very expencive! I reckon you could easily pay about a £100 for a litre of the paint (though it could easily be more maybe double).
If you are after the paint the easiest to spray is the Harlequin paint range. I believe the colours are Cyan to Purple; Silver to Green; Green to Purple; Blue to Red; Magenta to Gold; Purple to Orange and Gold to Silver. Possibally even more mixes of these paints will give more colour effects. ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

The above two images are the same colours from different angles. They are Harlequin paints.
I'm not quite sure which paint your friend is refering too. To my knowlegde the Harlequin paint is the easiest to paint (littereally only a couple of coats - opposed to a number of coats with some of the earlier versions, which had to be painted in certain ways).
The Harlequin paint is a metalic type of paint so maybe he means a more flat paint? But I believe its just a two colour flip. ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

Hex, Does your old man do powder coating by any chance aswell?
(for a spare set of wheels for the NSR)
The fairing plastic on the NSR is ABS (?) or so i'm told so it's really easy to work with (again so i'm told) Because hopefully when me and colin get round to buying Zak's bust NSR i can go for another colour scheme.
But not all that different.
Probably go for the same blue, But with bright yellow wheels. oh yes now you'll be able to see me from miles away, let alone here me ... lol. ____________________ Regards

My father has painted cars for a living from his own business for 20+ years. So I know bits and pieces about paint and painting.
I aint totally upto date on the latest types of paint out there, but as you say there is more than one type of "flip paint".
I remember when the first ones came about (publicly anyway) and my father was asked to fix a botched job that someone had done. The paint cost a fortune and there was so many steps that had to be done for a decent finish.
I'll tell you something else, took me ages to find a half decent picture of the paint. Found it on a site the paints bike frames of all places! ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

Dont think it would be that much, problem is my father lives in the north east and I now live in the midlands.
That in itself aint a problem, but the fact my father is only open weekdays and I only really go home weekends is.
If it was simply one colour, no daft masking for multi colours etc wouldn't cost much at all. I mean all he'd have to do is prep the surface, mask off bits that needed it (if any) and then thin the paint, spray and finish it up.
If you are serious we'll talk about it later mate, and I'll have a word with my father about it for you. ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

Yeah it would just be the one colour.
Nice shiny blue
Of which i could add vinal stickers at a later date or one of them sites that do replica stickers.
or from mark when the company gets set up.
Failing that, i'll just ride round with no fairings what so ever, lol.
or just use the evil scammy bus. ____________________ Regards
