Hi,

Following a bolt snapping in my wheel and having to drill it out then tap the hole I`ve hit another snag.
A temporary bolt was put in (correct size obviously) and apon removal to insert a proper one I found that the threads came out with it, so now the new screw has nothing to bite on to.
Wonderful situation eh?

So, anyone know how I can get this repaired?
Could tap it to a 9mm hole and attempt to find a suitable bolt for it maybe?

Im abit stuffed at the moment. Sad

You need a Helicoil insert.

Just type helicoil into search and you'll find loads on the subject.

Cost for a kit is around £15 - £25 but you may find someone that will do the repair for about £5

How big a hole would be created once drilled for one?
Not sure how big the shoulder is on the bolt but need it to match the hole obviously.

Will phone my local bike mechanic tomorrow for a quote. Thumbs Up

A photo would be handy along with the size of the original bolt. There may be other options.
