What's the score with pitted discs and MOT's?

Left my bike to stand for 9 months and the discs had lot's of corrosion on them from salty roads. Given them a good scrub down with a wire brush attached to a black and decker. They have come up clean but are pitted in some areas - quite badly.

Not sure where I stand when it comes to MOT time. Can they be sanded down or is it a case of new discs?

Thanks

think you will find most bikes over 2-3 yr old have pitted disc's

its caused by hh pads and the like as they rust on the disc when left after getting wet.

as long as they don't drag you will be fine and after a good run they will look better.

mot is about safety and efficiency not appearance Thumbs Up
