I'm looking for a cheap bluetooth headset for my lid: I've found this, and I was wondering if any of you know whether it's any good. If it's not, then can anyone make suggestions for decent models that are affordable: money's tight at the moment, but I'm tired of missing important phonecalls on the bike...

I wouldn't trust the fact it says 'rain resistant' instead of waterproof.

I'm still waiting for an A2DP unit with a bone conduction mic and AVRCP through a rubberised mat that attaches to the wrist and allows both remote dialling and media playback control.

looks like an alright piece of kit for £26 mate.
Im probably gonna pick one up, try it out. The only thing that could annoy me is the auto volume thing..also my helmet is quite..loud.. hear more car/bike and air than current earphones Sad

Sounds like you may have the same lid as me, padwaxk88 - would it be a caberg v2r, by any chance?
I'm just getting into doing some more freelance IT work, now that the Bandit appears to be relatively stable in its working condition, and it'd be nice to be able to get int touch with clients if I'm likely to be late, or whatever.

BanditJeff - I agree with you about the rain resistant thing: I'm just wondering what the worst that could happen would be: I'm a little worried about the idea of possibly getting feedback in my ear while on the A406...

I may well just give it a shot, and see what happens. It may turn out to be pretty good, or utter crap.

I'll keep you all posted, and thanks for the responses, folks Karma

I would imagine that 'rain resistant' would mean probably ok in a light shower but it will die in heavy rain.

I'd had pretty much the same thought. I'm wondering if it's possible to make a latex skin for it: I can get hold of liquid latex fairly easily, so if it's do-able, I'm gonna give it a shot.

https://www.cardowireless.com/scala_rider

I have one of these
bit more money but very good only thing is I found that talking on the phone was very distracting whilst riding
tended to have to pull over or tell the caller I would call back as on the bike at the time

I have a Cardo Scala Rider Q2 and I cannot praise it enough.

Did 1500miles to scotland and back, 90mph+ motorways, wind, heavy rain, the lot and it coped superbly (mate had a Q2 aswell).

The sound quality was great and could hear clearly at high speed, it also does GPS, Phone, FM Radio, 2 other riders (with Q2s) and a pillion, and you can have them all paired simultaneously. Thumbs Up

Scala Rider! I have the FM one which is good on the long boring commute. They are pricy but very well built and I haven't had any complaints about the audio quality, from myself or people I've been on the phone to. It's been through rain, snow, hail, blistering hot sun, the lot. You can have a look/listen at mine at work at some point?

Very true ! But, I learnt the hard way and bought the lidl one for £25 previously which had inferior features and I couldnt even hear my mate at a standstill at idle !

This has got me thinking. Might see if I can adapt a throat mic setup to hook up with my phone, making the PTT button work as a voice command prompt looks like it'll be the main bugbear.
