Confused

Don't know what to say really.

The message is there tho. But obviously touching a difficult subject, with bikes being taken out by cars.

Thumbs Up

Might be a bit of a weird ad, but I had a copper take me out a couple of years ago and write off my bike. Anything at all that might make a cager have another look in the mirror just has to be worth it.

If you've not been taken out by a blind driver you might not see the relevance, but you certainly will when you're lying on the floor with a bike pinning your left leg down while a copper stands over you saying, "I just didn't see you mate!"

The approach was pretty funny, in my estimation. Obviously, it's a very serious issue, but it's likely to leave people with the biker/bugsplat association more than a 'I should look out for bikers' association, I reckon.

For some reason I think you just cant see bikers esp when they dont have lights on.

A case of this some weeks ago. I pulled up to a junction (in my car) looked left right, left right then finally again before pulling our. To my right a bike suddenly there just as I was going to pull out. Now he wasnt there 2 seconds ago (60 mph road) what he had done as over take a shed load of cars that where some distance away so as I went to pull out he was there! I absolutely shat myself as if I had not looked again quickly (after already looking) he would have hit me. He was also travelling much faster than 60mph!

From the other angle I have been out on my bike and been approaching a junction seen the person waiting look right at me then pull out on me causing me to brake heavily. I always had the headlight on so they must have been able to see me. I think some people just dont care tbh that's what it is. I think everyone should do a cbt at least then they would understand what being on a bike is like.

While having a headlight on will make you more easily seen, it also confuses peoples perception of your speed. Hence they might well see you and think they have space to pull out. Also the problem with a bumpy road making it look like you are flashing your headlight to let them out.

All the best

Well apparently 60 miles per hour is 26.8224 meters per second so in the 2 seconds it took you to look they travelled at least 50 yards down the road? Doesn't seem like enough to not be seen but then, I don't know the road.

ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston?
