Hi guys.

Has anyone had this before? I started developing a rash a few days ago and I got it checked out by a nurse who said that's what she believed it was.

The rash is most obvious on the inside of my elbows and down the sides of my torso. At the time I went to the nurse, it wasn't itchy and it wasn't on my legs. It's now quite itchy.

According to wikipedia I have 6 weeks of this shit. There wasn't any "herald patch" though that I could notice.

Is there anything I can do to help it heal faster. There are bright red dots on the inside of my elbows.

Any input would be great.

Thanks guys.

Yep, I had it about ten years ago (just after I started a new job, so looked like a freak due to having big red whelts on my neck). It lasted about a month or so and was pretty benign for me (no itching or discomfort).

My doc sad they didn't really know why you get it and its not contagious.

So in essence, I can give you some solidarity, but no practical advice Very Happy

Have you tried calamine lotion ?

My ex wife had it, a few years ago, on the back of her hand.
As Swampy said, the quacks know sod all about it, they don't know why you get it, (although it could be a stress thing), and they don't know how to cure it.
IIRC she used E45 cream on it, won't cure it but keeping air of it will reduce the itching.
It will eventually dissappear of it's own accord!

Have you tried washing the affected area in petrol, IMHO kit kills most things.

I had it (twice, despite the quacks saying you can only get it once) and they just give me some oilatum shower gel which did sod all.

Mine was incredibly itchy, to the point where it started bleeding i was scratching so much!

Fortunately i had it on my belly and on the inside of my thighs so it wasn't noticeable to anyone, it wasn't nice to look at so i feel sorry for people that have it in visible places!
