Hi,

I passed my CBT around March 2000 but after getting a bike on the road, just a week later i was knocked off by an old f/tart in a metro who indicated left... but turned right *sigh*

I noticed a sheet of paper on the passenger seat which looked like an email printed out so i think she was lost, went to pull over to the side but realised the place she was looking for was to the right.

Anyway, it's taken me until now to get back to a position to get another bike (she wrote off my previous one so lost my job, etc) but i know the CBT expires after 2 years but... can you simply re-take it? I've heard you cannot re-take it for a year after it expires and don't want to waste any more of this *cough* summer.

Please say there's not "Ban" as i have my eye on a sweet NSR125 Smile

Yes you can just redo it.

And this is the wrong forum for this IMO

How come you didn't claim off her if she knocked you off? Confused

argh.. oops sorry i had 2 forums open at the time so must've posted in the wrong one, lol.. oh well Embarassed

As for claiming, i did put in a claim and managed to recover part of the costs for the bike but as i'd spent doing it up for the mot, the insurance wouldn't conpansate for that. Didn't help my solicitor at the time said i should just accept the first offer then argue and as i'd lost my job as a result i needed the money so just a bad year, lol.

Good to hear i can simply retake it, i'll just have to get a LOUD exhaust to wake these dozy people up, lol.

Hi

I think your friend got confused with the old part one and two test. It used to be that you got a provisional bike licence that ran for 2 years (and you didn't have to do CBT to validate it), but when it expired you got a one year ban from riding a bike. I think that if you passed your car test then the 2 year limit didn't apply.

All the best

Keith
