As title really.

Hard to start from cold but will start easily if its warm. Bumps easily

Its done around 17000km.

I think its happening because it needs a top end rebuild.

Can anyone confirm?

Also, what would be involved?

Piston and rings? Barrel?

Thanks.

take out your spark plug, put finger over the hole, try turning over the bike, does it literally blow your thumb off or are you able to keep on there?
When was last rebuild?

I think those are nikasil plated those motors. Id suggest maybe a new plug first, then you can probably just put in a new set of rings.
