Hi there,

I recently acquired a Yamaha.
It's registered as being a TZR125 but after some intensive googling of the frame/engine number (4AP-045854) we're fairly certain it's a TZM150. A model which is usually found in Malaysia/Singapore.
Having measured the cylinder, it's definitely a 150cc engine. Radius ~3cm, TDC to BDC is ~5.4cm

Anyway, the main problem - The oil seal in the water pump needs replacing. Water was getting into the transmission oil through it and emulsifying.
I can't find anywhere that does spare parts for the TZM150. Is the seal likely to be standard across the models ? Ie, is it the same as the seal in the TZR125 ?

Thanks,
Matt.

It's probably the same, and probably replaceable. Someone put the steel shaft through the alloy housing so it should be possible to remove it. You might find that it's a non-standard size only available from Yamaha.
