Hi, new to this so please bear with me
Crashed for the first time yesterday on my honda CG 125, my own fault, i went into a corner i know too fast and went onto a grass verge. Front wheel dug in and i went over the handlebars at about 45mph. Walked away from it with only bruises and cuts but the bike needs some work.
Got it running and on the road again to get it home, and after abit of work on the cosmetics, it seems fine (THe CG living up to its reputation of being bulletproof ). Engine running well and its roadworthy, but the front feels slightly out of shape, as if im always slightly steering to the right when i'm going in a straight line. I think either the handlebars or forks are bent or the front wheel alignment on the front is out (checked the back its fine).
Was wondering if anyone had any idea's about which one it could be? And if not how to fix the problem that you think it is
Thanks =] ____________________ People can live one hundred years without really living a minute if they've never been on a motorbike. |

If the handle bars are bent it will still ride in a straight line as long as you don't put any pressure on the handle bars... as you in don't force then handle bars to look "straight". If it's still steering wrongly then either your wheels are out of alignment (can adjust the back wheel), forks are bent as suggested or you will just need an entirely new front wheel (or have it re-spoked).
Although to be honest I did something very, very similar to you on a near identical bike where my front wheel hit the kerb at the same speed if not faster..... and it ended up being just fine. So I wouldn't have thought it was the wheel it's self, more likely one of the other things. And I also had to ride with bent handle bars for a while... it wasn't so bad ____________________ will never give up his CG. I look at my fuel gauge more as a progress bar than a fuel gauge.
G: With my GSXR I do often effectively use it as a scooter with a clutch in town.
ms51ves3: why does it need 500 miles? Are you teaching it how to be a piston? |

it all looks ok, but i'll see what i can do about a few photo's
Ive ridden it for a few days now, and it seems fine now really. i think it is bent handlebars, she's riding fine, if anything just abit bumpier than usual, but probably the same.
I have had a look at the wheel and i cant see any damage to it, so i dont think it is the wheel, but not sure. And the back wheel is straight, i have made sure of that.
What i'm thinking is that the handlebars got abit bent, and now i've ridden her for afew days ive adapted it it. But i do want to be sure really.
Turns out after inspecting the damage more i need a new side panel and a few footpeg bolts, but i think thats it for the necessary bits.
will see what i can do about some photo's though |
