Need advice chosing a good off roader

Hi,
Iv got an insurance claim coming through soon and im looking at getting a road legal off-road bike. Mainly interested in getting into green laneing. I know alot about my sportsbikes but when it comes to offroaders i aint got a clue so would like some advice on what would be good bikes to get and in my price range.

the claim when it comes through looks like its going to be about £1400 and i can maybe put a few hundred £ on top of that so say 1600 MAX.
Im not bothered whether its 2T or 4T.

Also if anyone knows of any green laning/off road groups around Halesowen/Stourbridge let me know.

Honda CRM 250 MK3 or AR models are very good trail bikes, should be able to get a tidy one for £1200.
