Hi all

Bit of an arse - my rear tyre on my DRZ400 Supermoto (wearing Dunlop radials) has got a puncture.

Not sure how bad it is yet, as won't get a proper look until tomorrow.

One question though - do the SM models have tubed or tubeless tyre combos?

If so, either my tubed can be repaired, or it could need replacing.

Where can I get a replacement inner tube if the worst comes to worst?

Or can I run the wheels without inner tubes?

proper supermoto rims are usually tubeless.. I think the stock DRZ-SM are tubeless, I may be wrong tho.

You're wrong. Laughing

As stock they have tubes. Those Dunlops are crap so if you can then chagne the tyre. Tube's can be bought from any motorbike shop, tyre places are unlikely to stock them but it is possible.

Cheers. Thumbs Up

Is it possible to run the wheels without inner tubes? Will the Excel rims take it?

You can with some silicone and gaffa tape (theres a tutorial on how to do it on thumpertalk somewhere).

I got a punctureon my DRZ SM yesterday, got it repaired today (was just a nail right in the centre). Basically just a big bicycle repair it Laughing

A company (i forget which, there was a thread on it not long back) has started selling some dooferators that you stick in your wheels/tyres that make them tubeless, however they are around £100+ EACH.

Or just be the tart you are and buy some mascherini's, only $1800 for a pair Laughing

Have a look where the valve comes out of the wheel. If it's clearly poking through a hole in the wheel it's an inner tube.

Unless someone has fitted them tubless doofers, or done the silicone and gaffa tape bodge job, then trust me they ARE tubed Wink

Thanks for the help everyone.

I got everything together and was about to order the new tyres and inner tube.

Weird thing, so that I could move the bike around, I pumped the tyre back up - and, I think, it hasn't lost any pressure? There's also no entry wound on the surface either. Neutral

Either I've got a dodgy valve or something, or maybe someone let my tyre down over night...

Still, I'm going to use any excuse to replace the OE Dunslips.
