Attaching 'armaid' (woven kevlar) to a plastic tank?

I've been thinking that my new big-tank on my 690e could do with a bit of extra protection after a slow-speed crash on gravel left deepish scratches.
Initially I thought about making a metal skin for the corner likely to go down - then I thought about sparks and a petrol tank and decided maybe not.

I realised I've got some armaid from some ripped bike-jeans and was thinking this may offer a little better abrasion resistance without the worry of sparks, etc.

I tried using superglue, but it just soaked in to the fabric (probably reducing it's usefulness too.) Any suggestions on what I could use to attach it - not a big issue if it soaks into the edges hardening them, providing I can keep the centre clear.

I appreciate that it may offer very little help, but I'm hoping that if I got it to work, it'd may save some of the tank, at least.

Something a bit less soaky inny like Araldite? (the old thick Araldite, I know there about ten different kinds now)

It's what's used on my R6 to keep the plastic tank protectors in place.

Good old fashion Bostik or a similar contact adhesive.

Aluminium, brass, etc doesn't spark

3M double sided tape is used on a large amount of exterior car trim.

Velcro came to mind, or a contact adhesive.

the best thing i have found for sticking fabric down is heavy duty carpet spray adhesive doesnt soak in too much and is hellish strong

Don't they make the tanks from some kind of ghey plastic that is almost impossible to glue stuff to?

How about hot melt glue, contact adhesive or silicon, the stuff you use to stick things to stuff in the house, not the really soft silicon.
