been pondering over an XR1000 for the last month or so, cheap ones with old designs about £220 to £260 ish, wondered with the XR1100 coming out this month, will the remaining XR1000's be sold off much cheaper to get rid of them? Didnt want to spend £240 on an old design xr1000 then see it up for £150 the following week Rolling Eyes

The popular designs usually get reduced but it`s only the ones that didn`t sell well that go on offer at giveaway prices.

i've seen this place doing the xr1000 Miyu for £200 but the rest of their graphic designs are still around the £250 mark

I'm really tempted by the xr1100 but the range of graphics i've seen look like they were designed by Blind Pew Shocked

Honestly, i would have a look at the XR-1100 unless you are specifically after a knock down bargain. Uber comfortable and feels very nice on the head, I have just replaced mine with a different model as I ordered wrong but im very happy so far with the Monolith model they sent me as a replacement.

I agree with the comment about some of the designs though, they seem quite limited compared to what I would expect from Shoei, loads of black/white combos but not too many lighter or brighter models.

I will be getting the review of this helmet up on Bikechatter in the next couple of weeks with the current batch of items on test.

cheers

May well be worth going to the NEC in Nov for some bargains on them.

XR-1000 is a noisy lid though.

On the plus side they're comfy and have great ventilation. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

I paid 179.99 back in January for my XR1000 when on yer bike had a deal going. Bloody noisey on the versys though even with the whisper kit. Loads better on the 10r though.

Are they any noiser than a Raid 2 or are they about the same? I've currently got one of those and could do with getting a new lid, was thinking the XR1000 would be good as I could still use the same visors and anti fog inserts....(got about 4 all in good nick still) the XR1100 has a different size visor. The only helmets that seem to fit my head good seem to be Shoei's - apart from the multitec.

I think there be less than £200 at the bike show - I have seen them for less than that new on ebay - maybe even as low as £150 if the XR1100 is out then.

true but a comfortable helmet with good vents and £2 worth of earplugs is much better than a quiet helmet that turns your head into a frenologist's dream Very Happy

The deals are already on, girlfriend bought one for £194 2 weeks ago, they'll probably get cheaper. If you've a huge or tiny head you can probably afford to wait a bit longer

By the looks of things the X-Spirit is being replaced next year too with a few of the new design cues so expect those to drop in price in a few months.

cheers

I needed a new helmet and got the XR1000 in metallic black for £199 which I thought was a good deal considering the general sizes available when good helmets are reduced to silly prices are XS or S (I needed a M by the way lol)

Do you think so? I find mine quiet, I do use plugs too, but on it's own I find it ok.

My Diabolica is about 4 years old now, still very snug and hasn't been dropped or scratched, Just with age I want to change it. I would love another Diabolica paint scheme, so if they are going cheap I may get one, although I have this urge to get a flip up lid, I'm not sure why, but I keep checking them out.

I think noise levels are very subjective, if I take off the double bubble screen the noise levels are much reduced on most lids but worse on a couple and vice versa with it on.

Each bike creates a different airflow over the front end and hits the rider in very different ways.
