Taken from MCN.com

Start by removing the callipers but leaving the old lines attached, now remove one of the pads from each calliper and then pump the brake lever/pedal until the pistons are pushed all the way out, don't worry about the pistons falling out as the remaining brake pad will stop them from doing so. If you have opposed pistons try and ensure that both sides come out and meet the pad in the middle of the calliper (this is also the perfect time to clean the pistons from all the road muck).

Remove the reservoir cap and bleed the brakes in the usual way to remove all the fluid from the line. The old lines are now ready to be removed. Be careful to keep the callipers upright so you don't lose the fluid from them.

Connect the new lines and push the pistons all the way back into the calliper, you will see that the fluid from the callipers will have filled the new lines and started to fill the reservoir.

Replace the second pad, fit the callipers to the bike to the specific torque setting and bleed the brakes in the usual manor.

good idea but you would fill the new lines with old fluid and would have to bleed them. so you may as well just bleed the empty lines.
