Hi all,

Wondering if having the music on my computer be played through various rooms of the house. Prefer if it was switch able, so only certain rooms had the music.

Looking for recommendations and advice.

Thanks in advance

Chriss

We've got a few ancient Acoustic Research 900Mhz wireless speakers dotted about, with a sender connected to the main hifi. They work quite well, have a built in lead gel battery (but we use the mains adaptors) and you can select whether they're left, right or mono so you can use them in pairs or on their own. We've also got a couple of pairs of 900Mhz headphones that use the same sender, handy for when I can't sleep and want to watch a film at night.

It helps that our house isn't big though - they work in the garden, but that's only about 20' from the sender, going through 2 walls.

I have a couple of these:

They get their music streamed from the pc (wireless or wired) or get internet radio straight through your router.

Can be individually controlled or synchronised so the same music plays on 2 or more devices.

have you heard of the system where you have a small device on you and when you get into the proximity of a group of speakers it'll automatically switch over. it was in development a few years back but i dont think i ever saw it on sale, probably come with rediculously expensive systems

seemless intergration i think it was on the gadget show something like that.

I think it was more of a "vision of the future" than actually a system thats would be on sale any time soon. the idea was you had a wireless device that remembers what you listening to so when you left the house and got in the car it picked it up and continued playing, then picked it up on the computer when you got to the office etc...
