Hi, I did Use The Fucking Search Function (or whatever it is Laughing )

but couldn't find anything.

Anyway, how do you interpret the sizes (eg: 40) on leathers?

I'm a skinny 6 foot 6 and looking on ebay I have no idea what to get Confused

Any help?

You go to a shop and try them on. If you buy from eBay you don't really know how well the leathers will fit you. Badly fitting leathers can cause injury rather than prevent injury.

1) What size waist would you buy if getting a pair of jeans?
2) What size jacket would you look at first if you wanted a fairly close fit?

Er trousers are 34" waist 34" leg.

I've got a leather jacket thats says 42 is a good fit - enough room to have a jumper underneath if I want.

Id go to a shop, try them on, find your size, go back to ebay or where ever and buy them from there.

Thumbs Up

Yeah I think thats the way to go....

Theres a Hein Gericke down the road so I'll have a look in there.

Definatly can't afford the luxury of new leathers but it does make sense to try some on 1st...

Go to a local Hein Gericke and try on some suits and they'll find the right size for you.

I did that and found i'm between a 40 and 42. Trawled through Ebay and found a decent Akito Devil 1pc in the wrong category with a bad title and won it for £50. Slightly loose but it just means i've got room for a back protector so it's not all bad.

every manufacturer creates a different shaped and sized suit depending on their specification so there is no 'standard' fit - as already said go to a shop and try some different brands on and you get an idea if they come up loose or tight and which suit you better.

I'm a fat bastard and had to go to the shop J&S to get the right size, some sizes didn't touch me while the same size in a different make were just right.

Probably about euro size 52 for a one piece if that's what you were after, but being tall/slim you are a bit out of standard sizes so try-on a few is top advice.

You have no chance of getting a 1 or 2 peice suit to fit. The Generic sizes get to about 6'2/3 and stop getting taller and just get wider. I got a custom made suit in the end I'm 6'5 and 17/18 stone and the biggest sizes the shops had where too wide and not long enough.

I got a suit from Ian at ARC-ON, very good quality and a nice bloke, cost about £550 IIRC not cheap but good for a custom suit

The problem comes from the European v UK sizing. I'm a 42" chest and I find a 56 euro size suit fits me perfectly. Trying them on is the only way to go. Sometimes it's worth trying several different manufacturers. Alpinestars are made for weedy chestless Americans, hence they didn't fit across my manly UK chest Mr. Green I went for Dainese in the end, as they fitted properly, although a few years back Dainese wouldn't fit me at all, so also be careful of manufacturers changing supplier.

Cheers

Grim
